At EM Tuition, we provide personalised, high-quality education for learners who require alternative provision support. We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate tutors to support KS1–KS4 learners across different counties on a 1:1 basis.

The Role – Alternative Provision Tutor (KS1–KS4)
You will support learners from KS1 to KS4 on a 1:1 basis outside of mainstream education, delivering tailored and engaging sessions adapted to each learner’s needs, pace, and environment.
As an Alternative Provision Tutor, you will deliver highly personalised sessions that support both academic progress and emotional development.
Who You’ll Support
You will support learners who may have:
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
- Autism / ADHD
- Anxiety or emotionally based school avoidance (EBSNA)
- SEND needs
- Gaps in education or disrupted learning experiences
What You’ll Do
- Deliver English, Maths and Science, as well as primary curriculum support
- Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Build confidence, engagement, and independence
- Support learners to re-engage with education and improve emotional wellbeing
- Help learners achieve positive educational outcomes
Sessions take place during school hours in:
- Students’ homes
- Community settings
- Schools or local provisions
- Occasionally online
Essential Requirements
- QTS or strong proven teaching/tutoring experience
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN/additional needs
- Experience delivering KS1–KS4 curriculum content
- Strong differentiation and behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate learners who may have become disengaged from education
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel across your local area
