Contract Manager – HQ Role

Broxbourne, Hertfordshire | £30,000 – £32,000 | Full-time (37.5 hours) | Office-based

We are looking for a Contract Manager to join EM Tuition in Hertfordshire, supporting the delivery of high-quality education services across Local Authority partnerships.

This is a key role focused on managing contracts, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring strong outcomes for learners who require alternative education support.

Overview

The Contract Manager plays a pivotal role at EM Tuition, overseeing the full lifecycle of learner experiences while ensuring contract performance and profitability.

You will act as the key liaison between all stakeholders, including parents, tutors, schools, and Local Authorities, ensuring clear communication and a consistent, joined-up approach.

Your work will directly contribute to improving outcomes for learners by keeping all parties aligned and focused on each learner’s success.

Key Objectives

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

  • Drive long-term value creation and contribute to the overall growth of the business.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of your local market, including educational and community needs.
  • Work with Bid Writers or independently prepare mini-bids to acquire new business opportunities.
  • Own and manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned contracts to ensure profitability.

Account & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including Local Authorities, schools, parents, and tutors.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all inquiries related to your allocated accounts.
  • Attend and lead meetings with account contacts, including planning, review, medical, and safeguarding meetings as required.

Service Delivery & Performance Monitoring

  • Ensure monthly KPIs are met and exceeded across all contracts managed.
  • Monitor and evaluate tutor performance and learner outcomes.
  • Create and present monthly performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write comprehensive reports to Local Authorities as requested.

Tutor Management & Support

  • Source, assess, and allocate the most suitable tutors for each contract.
  • Provide continuous support to tutors in their region, including guidance on lesson planning and communication.
  • Conduct tutor assessments and provide constructive feedback to drive performance improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tutors to support retention and morale.
  • Conduct probationary reviews and ongoing performance reviews for tutors, providing structured feedback and implementing performance improvement plans where required.

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across all contracts, tutors, and learners.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed, stored, and updated in line with company and Local Authority requirements.
  • Manage system updates, data entry, and internal trackers to support service delivery and reporting.
  • Support compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all tutor documentation) is complete and compliant.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Create, maintain, and update all documentation relevant to managed accounts.
  • Communicate key updates and generate reports as needed for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in contract or account management, preferably in the education or public sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and KPIs.
  • Ability to write professional reports and bid proposals.
  • Good communication
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management

Desirable

  • Experience working with Local Authorities or education-based services.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and education regulations.
  • Previous experience managing or supporting educators/tutors.

What We Offer

  • £30,000 – £32,000 salary
  • 32 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), increasing annually to 35 days
