The Role – Tutor Recruitment & Engagement Officer
The Tutor Recruitment & Engagement Officer is responsible for recruiting, placing, and maintaining strong relationships with tutors across EM Tuition’s provision. The role focuses on building and sustaining an engaged tutor network, ensuring tutors feel supported throughout their journey with the organisation, and matching suitable tutors to learner placements efficiently.
This is a relationship-focused operational role with no strategic growth or business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will focus on tutor recruitment, placement coordination, and ongoing tutor engagement to ensure high-quality service delivery and tutor retention.
The role will act as a key point of contact for both new and existing tutors, helping to maintain long-term relationships with current and former tutors to encourage loyalty, re-engagement, and continuity within the organisation.
What You’ll Do
Tutor Recruitment & Placement
- Manage the recruitment process from application through to placement
- Write and post job adverts across relevant platforms
- Screen applications and conduct initial interviews
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified tutors
- Match tutors to placements based on skills, location, and learner needs
- Coordinate placements with Contracts Managers and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records of tutor activity and availability
- Respond efficiently to new placement requests
Tutor Relationship Management & Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tutors
- Act as the main point of contact for tutor queries
- Carry out regular check-ins to maintain engagement
- Support tutor retention through communication and support
- Re-engage inactive or former tutors
- Gather feedback and share insights internally
Operational Support
- Maintain recruitment and placement trackers
- Support reporting on recruitment and tutor engagement
- Assist in improving recruitment and placement processes
- Ensure clear communication across teams
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in recruitment, tutor coordination, or relationship management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information
- A proactive and team-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience within education, tutoring, or alternative provision
- Familiarity with DBS and safeguarding processes
- Experience with recruitment systems or ATS
- Knowledge of Local Authority or SEN/SEMH provision
